This project is an expression of the deep trust that we humans are able to realize a way of life that honors and protects life and serves the highest good of all beings.
Peace within - peace in the world
For a positive change in a future worth living in, comprehensive peace work is required, which begins at the heart of each individual and extends from there through the community to the global level.
We are aware of the great challenge this path brings - the achievement of peace is an endeavor as old as humanity itself. One could lose faith in the fact that human beings are able to receive peace if one looks at human history considered. At the same time, the ways of life of various indigenous peoples clearly show that people can exist for millennia in peace and in harmony with their fellow human beings and their environment.
The cuna Project would like to combine the ancient peace knowledge of our ancestors with contemporary process and communication technologies in order to support a deep and sustainable path of change .
The 1st peace - inner peace
We can achieve 1st peace , inner peace, when our perception, our feelings, our thoughts and actions are in harmony with our true core and the principles of creation (coherent mindset).
Based on a constant and sincere decision to live with an orientation towards these coherent attitudes, which we call the ethos of peace in their entirety, the 1st peace can be realized.
The 2nd peace - peace in togetherness
The 2nd peace is peace in the family, relationships and community. The prerequisite for this is the constant orientation of the individual towards inner peace (1st peace).
If several people then communicate, act and support each other in a room with a clear decision for a common realization of the ethos of peace, the 2nd peace can be realized in cooperation.
The 3rd Peace - Peace Between Nations
We can realize the 3rd peace , peace between peoples and species, when all social structures, systems, organizations and processes serve and promote the individual and common realization of the ethos of peace and are thus in harmony with the principles of creation .
The principles of sustainability serve as concrete guidelines for the creation of peace-building structures and organizations.
The 7th generation native principle
Based on the formulations in the great constitution of the Iroquois ("The Constitution of the Iroquois Nations: The Great Binding Law"), the principle of the 7th generation says accordingly:
Each generation is responsible for the next seven generations and must always take into account the well-being of these next seven generations in its actions and decisions. This is the only way to ensure the continuation of life in the long term.
Permaculture
Permaculture is a concept that focuses on the creation of permanently functioning, sustainable and natural life. and creative cycles.
Originally developed for agriculture, it has now become a holistic thinking principle that also includes areas such as energy supply, landscape planning and the design of social infrastructures. The basic principle is an ecologically, economically and socially sustainable management with all resources.
The way of the circle - The circle philosophy according to Manitonquat
Through Manitonquat, an elder of the Wampanoag Indians, storyteller, co-founder of the Tribal Healing Council and member of the Association for Humanistic Psychology, re-evaluation counselor, teacher and author, the teaching of native circle culture came to us. For 25 years he has been traveling through Europe and teaching the "path of the circle".
He reflects on the circle as the basis of Indian culture. He does not mean the circle as an abstract structure, but a circle of people.
The starting point of the circle philosophy is the simple realization that no point in the circle is superior to the other. In a circle are like among like.
The circle is therefore in sharp contrast to systems of rule. Manitonquat is convinced that western culture is doomed for the simple reason that it does not obey district laws and can only be maintained through control and violence.
So the basis is the respect of all members in a circle. Since respect can easily be confused with respect for those in authority, perhaps a better word is “appreciation”.
Manitonquat assumes that without this deeper, spiritual respect, neither honesty nor trust are possible. Only when I can trust in the respect of others can I be honest and open, can I trust.
Absolute confidentiality is part of respect. What is said in a circle must remain confidential and does not concern anyone outside the circle.
A circle always works when two people or more listen carefully and respectfully to one another. Manitonquat is convinced that nothing more than that would be needed to save the planet.
For him the circle is the beginning and the goal of a great vision. He writes:
“When we find someone who appears to see our real good and worth, this is exactly what we've been looking for so long. This inevitably has a profound effect on us. When we have a whole circle of people who understand and accept us in this way, it feels like we've come home and found our true family.
If we do this often enough and in many circles, we may begin to understand that the entire human race is our family and the whole earth is our home. "(Medicine Story, p.38)

Deep ecology
Deep ecology is a spiritual, "holistic" environmental and natural philosophy that strives for a life in harmony with nature. The main idea is the union of thinking, feeling, spirituality and action. In particular, people should become aware of their role as “preserver” or “destroyer” of their own world or livelihood. In addition to the purely scientific, “superficial” answers (with regard to ecological and social problems), “deeper” questions should be asked about possible changes in the human way of life. From the scientific perspective, deep ecology is inspired by systems theory and the Gaia hypothesis.
Gaia hypothesis
The Gaia Hypothesis was developed by the microbiologist Lynn Margulis and the chemist, biophysicist, and physician James Lovelock in the mid-1960s. It says that the earth and its biosphere can be viewed as a living being, insofar as the biosphere (the entirety of all organisms) creates and maintains conditions that enable not only life, but also the evolution of more complex organisms. The earth's surface forms a dynamic system that stabilizes the entire biosphere through mechanisms that react to human influences. This hypothesis presupposes a certain definition of life, according to which living beings are characterized in particular by their ability to organize themselves.
The name is derived from Gaia, the great mother of Greek mythology.

Holism (Gr. Ὅλος holos "whole"), also holistic theory, is the idea that natural (social, economic, physical, chemical, biological, spiritual, linguistic etc.) systems and their properties as a whole and not as a composition of their parts are consider.
So-called "holons" are units that consist of the interaction of smaller units and at the same time are themselves part of a higher level of complexity and unit.
Eco-effectiveness (cradle to cradle principle):
Eco-effectiveness is a concept for a circular economy. As a term used in environmental and economic sciences, eco-effectiveness is opposed to eco-efficiency. Eco-effectiveness applies to a specific sustainable manufacturing process. In a broader sense, one also speaks of consistency.
Ecological Footprint
The ecological footprint is understood to be the area on earth that is necessary to enable a person's lifestyle and standard of living (under today's production conditions) over the long term. This includes areas that are required for the production of clothing and food or for the provision of energy, but z. B. also for the disposal of garbage or for binding the carbon dioxide released by human activities. The values are given in global hectares per person and year. The cuna project aims to have the lowest possible and continuously decreasing ecological footprint.
